UPDATE 09/04/2020
After its previous appeal to local authorities, Truck Parking Europe once again urges authorities to support and keep parking locations open.
Truck drivers appreciate and make use of the extended drive- and rest times that are introduced in several countries, 59% of the interviewed drivers make use of this flexibility. However during rest-times there is still a lack of open comfort facilities for this vital group.

Truck Parking Europe calls upon local governments to keep supporting (inter)national truck drivers. Truck drivers are impacted by the decision of certain countries to close (road-side) restaurants at truck parking locations and truckstops. Therefor Truck Parking Europe asks all local governments to keep these facilities open and accessible to truck drivers.
Truck drivers can use their “digital tachograph driver card” to confirm they are a truck driver and be granted access. These facilities along European transport corridors are crucial for the health and well-being of (inter)national truck drivers in the haulage sector. Especially the opportunity to eat and refresh themselves during their break is of the utmost importance.
The transport sector and truck drivers are considered a vital professional group to keep countries moving. So, let us make sure that they can carry out their profession properly.
Stay safe and healthy.
