At Truck Parking Europe we are closely monitoring the development of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). We want to inform drivers and transport companies to the best of our knowledge.
Updates on transport and parking locations
To stay up-to-date about developments in the transport sector, please consult IRU's article about the impact on freight and passenger transport of the global Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
You can see all border crossing times on this live map.
If we know any parking location on our platform is closing, we will let you know in this article. The restaurants at parking locations are closed to prevent the virus from spreading as much as possible.
We understand that the situation can change at a moment notice. We try to inform you as well as possible. In the mean time, we hope you are in good health. Stay safe!
Keep road-side facilities and restaurants open for truck drivers
Truck Parking Europe calls upon local governments to keep supporting (inter)national truck drivers. Truck drivers are impacted by the decision of certain countries to close (road-side) restaurants at truck parking locations and truckstops. Therefor Truck Parking Europe asks all local governments to keep these facilities open and accessible to truck drivers.
Truck drivers can use their “digital tachograph driver card” to confirm they are a truck driver and be granted access. These facilities along European transport corridors are crucial for the health and well-being of (inter)national truck drivers in the haulage sector. Especially the opportunity to eat and refresh themselves during their break is of the utmost importance.
The transport sector and truck drivers are considered a vital professional group to keep countries moving. So, let us make sure that they can carry out their profession properly.
